Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in St. George Monday night, St. George News reports. The fire started around 10 o’clock near 100 N Donlee Dr. on the third floor of the home. When crews arrived, they saw flames coming from the upper two levels of the home.

A 19-year-old Utah man was sentenced after pleading guilty to assaulting a police officer. Anton Oliver Preto Bay was charged with assaulting a peace officer and giving false personal information to an officer. He received a term of 1-15 years.3 week ago

The incident started around 6 a.m. at the Monarch Meadow Apartments 13469 S. Dragonfly Lane. The suspect, 33-year-old Justin Gary Llewelyn, while dressed in black, fired at a responding officer while attempting to flee. The uninjured officer fired back at the suspect.4 week ago

A double tanker vehicle hauling gasoline traveling on I-15 southbound near 7200 South exploded causing major freeway closures and traffic delays. UHP says the tanker had 9,000 gallons of gas and 1,000 gallons of diesel. The driver of the truck escaped without injury and told police he believes his brakes caught fire, which led to the blaze.1 month ago

The fire is out on I15 southbound. Fire crews will remain for a short time to ensure the extinguishment. No injuries were reported during the incident and no structures were ever threatened
One person and one dog are dead after a shooting in West Valley City Thursday night. Officers are on scene of the shooting near 4100 South Bangerter. Both directions of 4100 South are closed at 3900 West due to the shooting.

West Valley Police have two people in custody after a late night police chase. The chase ended just after 11 p.m. near Industrial Circle in West Valley. Two people, both known gang members, are confirmed to be in custody. After the arrest, police found 3 pounds of marijuana in the car.

Police are investigating after a person attempted to destroy an ATM at 5 a.m. in West Jordan. The ATM, located at the Goldenwest Credit Union on 5600 W. 7800 S., was damaged but no cash was lost. The suspect fled and has not been found. Police are analyzing surveillance footage.
